A. Overview
Karo Batak people often refer to Mount Sibayak Mount Rajaa . Sibayak means king in Karo Batak language.
Sibayak mountain, which erupted last time in 1600, is an active volcano which is still issuing plumes of smoke with a height of up to 2 km. Clumps of smoke coming from geothermal and useful as a source of electrical energy. In Karo Regency there has been an area of steam power plant near Mount Sibayak.
The height of the mountain about 2094 m above sea level. From Village Sibayak, clear conditions are slightly sloping crater (visible from the rear area of steam power plants), which seems like a split mountain. At around 15:00 pm, the fog began to look around the mountain top to the bottom, and not long after, the fog began to spread to the Spirit Mountain Village. Fog conditions such as these, together with the existing fog conditions in the Dieng Plateau, Central Java or in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.
B. Feature
Mount it looks so beautiful and the main attraction many visitors, especially mountain climbers. On Saturday nights, usually at 2:00 pm is a favorite night for the climbers to climb to the top of the mountain, to see the beautiful panorama of the sunrise. From the top of the mountain looks the city of Medan, where in the evening, the City field looks more beautiful with glittering lights of the city.
To reach the foot of Mount Sibayak, most closely pursued through the Spirit Mountain Village (Village King Berneh). It was a beautiful village with a panoramic expanse of natural and plantation of vegetables, ornamental plants and fruits. Community-style agrarian society, which still hold on to ancestral tradition with a multicultural social life. Muslim and Christian communities live side by side. On the way to Mount Sibayak, along the way will be seen the traditional landscape, traditional houses of Batak Karo who have been around 250 years old.
There are many hot springs around the village and in the spirit of Mount Mount Sibayak. At the foot of Mount Sibayak there are hot springs that is often visited by visitors. The water vapor it contains sulfur, so it smelled a little sting. Natural conditions is still natural, full of bamboo and rattan trees. For directions to the summit, hikers can pass through the trail as the official climbing lane.

D. Towards Access Locations
From Medan to Berastagi, a distance of approximately 77 km, can be reached by approximately two hours by driving a two-or four-wheeled vehicles. From Medan, can also be reached by public bus Sinabung Jaya at a cost of 5,000, 00 per person (May 2007). To reach the location of the mountain, can be via two routes, namely from Berastagi Town and Village of Spirit Mountain.
